this is a picture of my daddy waterskiing near my uncle jerry's lake house. the lake (not necessarily this one - just any one) used to be where to go in the summer. we might bring some food with us and have a little cook out on one of the public grills. we might take the dogs and throw tennis balls far out into the water for them to get a good swim. we might go with friends and splash and laugh. we might go with someone who had a motorboat, feel the wind in our hair, watch the boys waterski, maybe try it ourselves. my dad's parents used to rent a little house on loon lake for a few weeks during the summer, and we'd all go out - all the aunts and uncles and cousins. i have so many memories (vague and blurred though they may be) of that lake: the sound of loons, catching my first fish, playing in the mud with my cousin kristen, toasting marshmallows around the campfire at night... good times. looking at this picture, and others my mom sent me yesterday, reminded me how i love open water and open sky. how i love to be wet.
i want a lake...

Waterworld...
And now for a comment from somebody who actually knows you... :)
um, cool.
You should build yourself a beautiful lake when you're rich and famous (although I'm sure that wouldn't really do it for you)...
How come you get all the random people commenting on your blog, and I never get any? :)
zombie lama - thanks.
vincentt - i also like land nearby, sand under my toes. so waterworld, not so much, but thanks for commenting.
george - you are my favorite the george. maybe the random people feel sorry for me because i don't (usually) get as many comments as you. ;P
arielle - it might be close enough. i wouldn't know...but maybe i'll find out someday. (:
