why?

why the name? why the blog at all? just in case someone should randomly stumble upon this place and wonder why in the world it exists, i shall explain. i really just wanted a username with which to comment on my friend george's "the george blog." so i sort of had to create my own blog. and since my somewhat unoriginal "littledutchgirl" had been taken as far as the URL was concerned, and i was really having trouble coming up with a title, i decided just to go with some bright eyes lyrics that have been running through my head:

the desperate are water
they'll run down forever
and soak into silence
and end up together
in a dark and distant, dark and distant place. . .

anyway, i thought it was somewhat appropriate.
